Today you’ll notice a new way to log into SocialToo. If you click on the “Login” link in the upper-right of SocialToo you’ll notice there is now a “Connect With Facebook” button. If you previously associated your Facebook account with SocialToo (if yourusername.socialtoo.com redirects to your Facebook profile you’ve done this), simply click on that button to log in. It may ask you for some additional credentials on Facebook, but from now on that one button will be all you have to click to enter your SocialToo account.
This is just one step of many we’re working on currently to fully integrate all your social networks into one experience. Our goal is to enable you to learn as much as you can about those you are connected with on the social networks you belong to. This step brings us one-step closer to that goal, as it gives us the opportunity to now have much further integration into your Facebook account and provide tools that will compliment this experience.
Along with this, we wrote some really cool code for the Perl programming language that works with the Catalyst MVC Framework authentication libraries and lets you login, like we do here, with Facebook. Follow my personal blog if you’re interested in this and shortly we’ll be releasing that to the public, free and open source code, something I believe in strongly.
So give it a try, and let me know if you run into any troubles! Stay tuned – there’s much more where this came from…
