Hiya,

Nice app. Would it be possible to though to keep the settings for the ‘auto post to twitter’ stored somewhere? Clicking the droplist and selecting the SocialToo item to expand, and selecting the ‘post to twitter box’ .. is gonna eat me up eventually

Thanks for the quick response Jesse! I started doing some digging and I believe you’re correct, the culprit was not in fact SocialToo, but instead the Facebook app, Facebook to Twitter. I will be reinstalling SocialToo because I think it’s a very handy tool, as long as I can use it at my discretion.

Alissa, are you sure you don’t have someone else’s app installed? If you’ve removed it there’s no way for us to do that, and we never send it automatically to Twitter for you. It’s off by default – you would have to check a box and load the SocialToo Status attachment for it to do that.

It sounds like you may have installed another application that could be doing that. You may want to look at your apps in Facebook in the applications drop-down under “Edit Applications” and also under your Twitter app preferences by de-authorizing apps until it stops. We’ll never send status updates to Twitter from Facebook unless you check that box, on a per-status update basis.

I must be doing something wrong. I added the SocialToo app to my profile & several of the Pages I administer as soon as it was launched, but have never had the functionality described above. Everything posted to my pages is automatically posting to Twitter, even when I don’t want it to.
After getting frustrated with the functionality issues, I decided I was better off removing the app and just doing the posts to both FB and Twitter manually. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to get it removed. I’ve taken if off my Pages and my profile, yet somehow it’s still posting on Twitter every time I post an update to my Page.
Jesse, can you please help?

Matt, if you try again it should work. Some times if Facebook has a hiccup it can cause issues like that.

the app only partially works for me. From the profile page I make an update, both my twitter and fan page options come up and I check both, it posts to my profile page and twitter BUT NOT the fan page. It even says on the profile page that it updated to the fan page but does not. I am the admin so that isn’t an issue. Did I miss a setting?

Ben, currently it only goes to your feed. The reason for that is that if we
post to your status it will also send a duplicate post to your feed. With
the Facebook API there is no way to turn off that second feed update. I've
submitted a bug with Facebook and am awaiting their response. We do update
the status of Pages though, and I'm brainstorming a few other ideas that may
allow that to work.

jesse thanks for the cool app. but i wonder if i'm doing something wrong. i fill out my new status on my profile pg on fb then click on the socialtoo icon, choose my twitter acct and hit publish. the new status goes on my wall, feed and on twitter, but does not change the status at the top of my profile. it still reads the previous status. is this a bug? i have to post it again to get it up there. (i've already done this)
